After a long time, there's finally a small status update on 'Street Fighter X Tekken', which has been in development at Bandai Namco for ages.
Last it was said Here in July 2015, it was stated that development was already well advanced and that the content, including characters, moves, and the underlying system, was finalized. However, no further information was provided regarding when a release could be expected.
Now, Tekken 7 Senior Game Designer Michael Murray speaks out in the current issue of OPM Magazine. to speak and confirms therein "unfortunately" They also repeatedly stated that they were still working on the game; however, they hadn't really given any thought to a release window.
Tekken X Street Fighter was officially announced back in 2010 and was supposed to follow shortly after its counterpart, Street Fighter X Tekken. What decisions were made that led to such a significant delay remains unclear. Since then, the only assurances given have been that it will be released (eventually).
Meanwhile, Tekken 7: Fated Retribution has been announced for PlayStation 4, and it will almost certainly be released before that.
