Bigben and Breakpoint today offer a glimpse behind the scenes of the motion capture recordings that the developers of 'Tennis World Tour' are using to work on the realistic gameplay of the tennis animation.
Since all movements and rallies in the game are meant to be depicted smoothly and authentically, Breakpoint collaborated with several professional tennis players and recorded their movements. To make the experience as natural as possible for the players, the motion capture was recorded on a real tennis court, not in a studio as is often the case. This gave the professionals complete freedom to hit the ball and move as they would in a real match on a real court.
New player names can now be announced as part of the Australian Open: In addition to the French player Lucas Pouille, who can be seen in the video, the Swiss Stan Wawrinka and the Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis have also been signed as new players for the Tennis World Tour.
Tennis World Tour will be released in May 2018.
