As the Mutua Madrid Open Virtual Pro kicks off, NACON is pleased to announce its involvement in Spain's biggest tournament. The first major virtual competition will take place from April 27th to 30th on the Tennis World Tour platform, featuring 32 of the biggest tennis stars, including Andy Murray, Angélique Kerber, and Rafael Nadal.
In light of the current situation, the Mutua Madrid Open is reinventing itself. The organizers of the competition have chosen Tennis World Tour to host an eSports tournament – a virtual counterpart to the famous tournament, in which the biggest stars in the tennis world will compete against each other from their homes.
Free DLC
To celebrate the event, NACON is offering all Tennis World Tour players new, free bonus content – namely three renowned players: Denis Shapovalov, Alex De Minaur, and Caroline Garcia. These three playable characters are available now.
Thanks to the realistic player experience that simulates the sensations of playing tennis, a precise replica of the Manolo Santana Stadium, and the online mode, the stars of the ATP and WTA can compete against each other in the best possible way in Tennis World Tour.
The event consists of two tournaments featuring 32 top players such as Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray, and Lucas Pouille. The second tournament includes matches between tennis professionals and influencers.
Benoit Clerc, Head of Publishing at NACON, comments: “We are very proud that Tennis WorldTour – like our other sports titles – it allows amateur and professional players to stay connected to their passion in the current situation. This means we are on the right track with our publishing decisions and the importance we place on the simulation dimension in the development of our games."
The charity tournaments have a prize pool of €350.000: €150.000 for the ATP and €150.000 for the WTA, a portion of which the winners will donate to support tennis players. An additional €50.000 will go to hospitals to support the fight against COVID-19.
The event can also on the official Facebook page be followed.
