Our preview of 2survive2BAD GAMES, which is already available for Xbox and Nintendo Switch, released their third game in 2019, sending players into a fight for survival where they must battle hordes of zombies and stay alive as long as possible. Since the top-down shooter was quite well-received, it's now time for PlayStation players to enjoy the pixel-art shooter on November 16, 2021.
The zombie virus strikes again every day.
This title certainly doesn't reinvent the wheel in terms of content, but it doesn't need to in this case. 2survive One finds oneself in a world that has suffered greatly from a virus (It seems familiarThis virus has spawned enormous hordes of zombies, and these zombies are coming in droves from all sides to infect the remaining humans. Armed with a variety of weapons, ammunition, and well-placed turrets, the goal is to eliminate the vastly superior numbers of enemies and postpone one's own death for as long as possible.

Shared sorrow is half sorrow.
What exactly sparked the modest success of this game in the first place is, for me personally, quite clear: the co-op mode. Because where 2survive While the single-player mode has the potential to bore the player to tears in under half an hour, playing with a friend can provide hours of fun. Content-wise, you won't be disappointed, as the game offers more variety than many AAA titles. With three game modes, 13 story episodes, 10 weapons, and 10 enemy types, this title definitely gives the feeling that it's a passion project for the very small French studio.
A mobile game on the big console
While playing, I noticed after a relatively short time that I felt a kind of nostalgia, initially without any real reason. Then I realized that the top-down look, coupled with the simple graphics and the very minimalist (and actually quite uncreativeThe sound design and the sometimes truly awful controls reminded me of the time when the first smartphone games were released. To be precise, it was on my iPod Touch that I played exactly these kinds of games, and that's ultimately my "problem" with this game. On a mobile phone for half the price, this title would be a fantastic deal – but on a console, it only really works for die-hard fans of the genre or as a simple way to pass the time. In any case, there's very little motivation to start the game again after exploring all its possibilities.

Everything as expected
All in all, one has to give 2BAD GAMES credit for putting a lot of effort into their little zombie shooter, and it is of course perfectly clear that they are not aiming for a hit. 2survive It surprises with a very solid range of variety and is a delightful pastime, though at the end of the day I still wonder if a PlayStation release is really necessary. The release, especially at a likely price of €7, certainly won't hurt anyone.
