Production gamewarez Gamewarez aims to produce comfortable beanbag chairs for console enthusiasts and gamers, making even long and intense gaming sessions a cozy experience. We tried out a gaming beanbag chair from Gamewarez's Classic series and will tell you whether it's worth buying.

A few basic facts to start: The beanbag is filled with small polystyrene beads (commonly called Styrofoam, although this is a registered trademark), which are particularly stable, durable, and flame-retardant. They also have another advantage: they weigh very little – which is why the gaming beanbag is a real lightweight despite its dimensions of 95cm x 65cm x 90cm (L x W x H). The small polystyrene beads can also be easily replaced: There is a zipper on the underside of the beanbag with an integrated inner mesh, which allows for effortless refilling.
Unlike conventional beanbag chairs, the Classic model from Gamewarez features a backrest that is both soft and supportive. This allows you to lean back comfortably without worrying about tipping over. For added convenience, there's a side pocket on the right side of the beanbag. This pocket can be divided into three compartments using Velcro, each roughly the size of a 0,5-liter bottle. So, if you like to keep a beer handy while gaming or watching TV, you'll have the perfect place to store it. Alternatively, you can also use it to keep controllers, remotes, or your phone. On the left side, there's a holder for hanging headphones or headsets.

The material varies depending on the product type. Gamewarez's Classic series of gaming beanbags comes in different versions and designs. For our test, we received a beanbag of the "Crimson Hurricane" design. Its faux leather cover appears robust and high-quality. It features a red and black color scheme, a checkered pattern on the seating surface, and is reminiscent of sports car seats. However, the faux leather beanbag is also somewhat more expensive than some Gamewarez products that use conventional or PVC-coated polyester. Nevertheless, it certainly looks stylish.
So much for the theory, let's get to the practical part: How does it actually feel to sit on this gaming furniture? First and foremost, it's very comfortable – as you'd expect from a beanbag. The small polystyrene beads conform well to the body, creating a seat that's more comfortable than many sofas, even over extended periods. And you don't sink in as much as with comparable products. The gaming beanbag also offers plenty of space. The aforementioned backrest is particularly practical, allowing for a reasonably ergonomic sitting position. However, you shouldn't expect the comfort of a full-fledged gaming chair. The beanbag's backrest doesn't have a headrest and only extends to the shoulder area – which can definitely lead to a stiff neck in the long run. Those prone to back problems should therefore look for a truly ergonomic solution. Optionally, the beanbag can be purchased – for an additional charge – as a bundle with a footstool. This allows for a significantly more horizontal sitting position, where the backrest acts as a headrest, at least for shorter individuals.
All in all, the Classic series of Gamewarez beanbag chairs is a promising solution for gamers who don't have room for a sofa – or for those who prefer to sit directly in front of their 4K TV with a portable piece of furniture because the distance from the sofa is too great. And for a friend who comes over for a gaming session, the beanbag is certainly sufficient. One potential sticking point is the price: The Crimson Hurricane version costs €139,90 from the manufacturer. Polyester models are available from €114.90 (sometimes for a bit less at large online retailers). So, you're paying for the promise of durability. Whether that's the case, we can't assess within the scope of this review – that will become clear in long-term testing. However, the beanbag cover is well-made and appears very tear-resistant. And: The filling beads are contained in a separate net. So if a seam bursts somewhere, the polystyrene filling remains intact. You can't really go wrong with the Gamewarez beanbag.
An overview of current models and limited edition versions is available directly from Gamewarez. As a special highlight, the Crimson Hurricane is also available as a limited edition for Call of Duty and PlayStation, a must-have for fans. Also available in the Gamewarez shop.
