The Blood of Dawnwalker officially enters its launch year. A look back, new music, clear statements from the developers – and what can realistically be expected in 2026.

With the latest "Wolf Moon" update, the developers of Rebel Wolves have The Blood of Dawnwalker They did what many studios prefer to avoid: they didn't just celebrate, but also took a clear stance. The game will be released in 2026, and that's not changing at the moment.

Looking back at 2025 isn't so much self-praise as a well-documented development process: reveal in January, gameplay in summer, trade show appearances across Europe and the USA, and another showcase in autumn. This consistent presence demonstrates that the project is real, actively developing, and far enough along to warrant regular public displays.

The Blood of Dawnwalker: Transparency instead of high gloss

What's striking is the studio's tone. Instead of perfect vertical slices, the developers openly discuss the fact that the content shown isn't always final quality. This isn't just a side note; it's honest. Feedback is solicited, but there are no blind promises to implement it. This is exactly how early communication should look.

The approach also feels grounded from a technical standpoint. Gameplay features, locations, characters, and creatures are to be introduced gradually. Music isn't seen as mere embellishment, but as part of the identity of... The Blood of DawnwalkerFor an atmosphere-driven RPG, this is more than just a nice gimmick.

The Blood of Dawnwalker It launches in 2026. We don't know much more about the current plans. Instead of empty promises, the studio offers continuity, openness, and a clear direction. If this course is maintained, something could emerge here that thrives not on marketing, but on trust.

Now it's up to the coming months. More gameplay, more details, and above all, proof that they will deliver. A few impressions from the game can be found in... our Gamescom preview.

For heaven's sake, the developers should take their time with the release; what's been shown so far looks MILES AWAY from solid to decent.

I can understand the anticipation or even the coping mechanism of getting a spiritual successor from the former developers of The Witcher, but with such titles, it has always been shown that the wait, especially post-launch, is worthwhile when it comes to further proper optimization.
