Developer Yager Development is today giving a first look at their new project, 'The Cycle', a unique and match-based first-person shooter, as it is described by itself.
With The Cycle, Yager introduces the Competitive Quester, a new genre of PvEvP shooter with a strong focus on emerging social dynamics.
“This social dynamic gives the game a special touch,” explains Timo Ullmann, Managing Director of YAGER. "Players strive to achieve goals by forming and breaking temporary alliances. Anyone can attack someone, and anyone can ally with someone. Players can be both cooperative and competitive at the same time. When you meet new players along the way, anything can happen."
In The Cycle, the explored galaxy is controlled by massive factions, but the mysterious outer reaches are still up for grabs. In their race for these frontier resources, the factions need prospectors to do their dirty work. Each player is one of these prospectors, competing for objectives such as collecting minerals or hunting wildlife, while carefully choosing to either engage with or avoid the competition.
It is currently unclear which platforms The Cycle will be released on. However, the PC version is considered a certainty.
