Since March, we've been waiting for the long-awaited patch for The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR Players are waiting for a fix that is supposed to address the game's most serious problems. They are increasingly frustrated because developer Supermassive Games has simply let every promised deadline pass.
Shortly after the release secured Supermassive Games announced that they were working on an update for the VR horror title, which they planned to release soon. That was almost four months ago. Since then, there have been occasional minor updates addressing performance issues and game crashes.
The last glimmer of hope came at the end of June, when the problems were identified and work began on an update, which was now finally complete. Only the testing phase remained, while a release was targeted for the following two weeks.

Switchback VR Patch is not included
The patch, which according to Supermassive Games fixes the following bugs, should have been available by now:
- Corrections for blurry/low-resolution images
- Fixes for texture and asset pop-in
- Significantly reduced charging times
- Improvements to graphics, VFX and lighting
- Improvements to textures and environmental resources
- An Introduction to FSR and Foveated Rendering
This deadline has also passed, and the players are increasingly frustrated at being left in the lurch. Reddit A veritable shitstorm is currently raging against Supermassive Games, especially since they still cannot provide an update on when the patch will be available.
There's no need to give up hope entirely, as the patch apparently does exist and will be released sooner or later. Whether it can save the once so promising PS VR2 title remains to be seen.
In a playful way, it was possible to The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR The PS VR2 was largely convincing back in March, were it not for the issue of the abysmal technology, which cast a poor light on Sony's headset – unfortunately, right at launch. What the PS VR2 is capable of graphically can currently be seen in... Synapse from nDreams, which is a true showcase example of the headset.
[UpdateThe much-anticipated patch will now be released on July 21st, as confirmed today by Supermassive Games.

"Waiting for the patch" Yes, that's true. But you can say that about other games too, even non-VR games. I can only say I don't regret the purchase.
