Ubisoft today announced the next major update, 1.8, for 'The Division', which will be released for free this fall. The "Resistance" update will be the largest free update to date, including two new game modes and the expansion of the game map with a new area: West Side Piers.
West Side Piers is a completely new area, spread across two new zones and accessible to all players. The defeated factions have recently been observed approaching this sector, and it appears they are now cooperating for the first time. The Division must investigate the area to verify if the factions are indeed forming an alliance and to uncover the reason for their sudden interest in this region. In addition to the numerous open-world activities scattered across the map, West Side Piers will feature two new game modes:
- Resistance (PvE mode) – In Resistance For the first time, the various factions unite to fight against the agents of The Division. A seemingly endless number of enemy non-player characters attack in waves, while up to four agents try to survive as long as possible to earn rewards.
- Battle (PvP mode) – In a battle, two teams of four players each compete against each other to achieve the highest number of kills before time runs out. Teams receive points each time an enemy player is eliminated.
The Division's agents will also gather at a new social hub. At Camp Clinton, they can team up with other agents and customize their gear before heading into battle at the West Side Piers.
Additionally, Update 1.8 "Resistance" will bring optimizations to the Underground DLC, a revamp of the Renegade mechanics, and an improvement to the gear system. The latter will allow players to enhance the stats of their favorite gear. Those who want more information about the new content in Update 1.8 "Resistance" can tune in tomorrow, August 31, starting at 17 PM CEST. the State of the Game live stream to track.
