Today NEXON is releasing a comprehensive update for The First Descendant, which not only delivers fresh content but also makes noticeable changes to the gameplay. Players can look forward to a new weapon class, the "Void Vessel" dungeon, the challenging "Void Intercept Battle: Abyss" combat mode, and several quality-of-life improvements.
Swords are introduced as a completely new weapon class with the update. Two examples are initially available: Shadow and Deus Ex Manus, both with unique special abilities such as Shadow SlashUnlike firearms, the focus here is on close combat and defense, which opens up new build options.
Exclusive sword modules and external components allow players to specifically enhance their swords, significantly adding depth to melee builds. For fans who have long sought an alternative to traditional firearms, this could be a welcome change of perspective.
Void Vessel and new boss
The new dungeon Void Vessel It features medium-sized facility zones that combine classic boss fights with hoverbike racing sections. On "hard" difficulty, the coveted sword modules and external components drop more frequently, rewarding targeted farming.
New to the dungeon is the boss Arche SlayerIts sword attacks and highly mobile patterns force players to precisely coordinate their timing and positioning. The hoverbike segments with boost and jump pads add variety and dynamism. For players who want to specialize in melee combat, this dungeon is a clear incentive to try out the new weapons.
Trigger modules, Void Intercept Battle, and quality-of-life updates
The update adds three new trigger modules: Supply fortress for additional ammunition and reflection damage, wave outbreak for increased speed and damage output with release skills and Rhythm Step, exclusively for Luna, which grants buffs to shield and movement. In addition, Void Intercept Battle: Abyss, a Lava Citadel variant with a fire attribute boss. Players must master large-scale flame mechanics and lava waves – here, timing determines success or defeat.
Furthermore, quality-of-life updates such as the direct opening of amorphous materials in Albion and optimized reactors noticeably improve gameplay. The laboratory now allows up to 50 monsters to spawn for testing, significantly simplifying build optimization and damage calculations. Balance patches for Descendants like Kyle, Ajax, Esiemo, and Bunny also improve playability and fairness.
For players of The First Descendant This update means more variety, more targeted build options, and less frustration from repeated farming. Whether swords can permanently shift the current focus on firearms remains to be seen, but it will certainly be exciting.
In November, the following will also follow: Crossover event together with Bayonetta.
