This week the open beta test starts for The King of Fighters, which is now available for download in the PlayStation Store.
During the Open Beta, 8 of the 39 characters can already be chosen, including the newcomer Dolores, plus Shun'ei, the hero from KOF XV, the team members of Team Orochi – Yashiro, Shermie and Chris – as well as the team members of Team Sacred Treasures – Kyo Kusanagi, Iori Yagami and Chizuru Kagura.
Game modes include Online Casual Match and Room Match, while Training and Versus modes can be played offline. The open beta also offers a preview of the new DJ Station with over 300 popular songs from across the country. The King of Fighters-series, as well as the option to select your personal favorite songs from the tracklist for the battles.

- Test period: From November 20th, 04:00 CET to November 22nd, 15:59 CET
- Platforms: PS5, PS4 – Crossplay available
- Playable modes: Online: CASUAL BATTLE, ROOM BATTLE, Offline: VERSUS, TRAINING, INTRODUCTION

GGPO Rollback Netcode
During the Open Beta, the GGPO Rollback Netcode will be used for online matches. This is already used in several high-profile fighting games, such as Guilty Gear Strive, Garou: Mark of the Wolves, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, and Killer Instinct (2013), to ensure an excellent online experience.
The King of Fighters It will be released in February 2022.
