The announcement of 'The Last Guardian' for PlayStation 4 at E3, which is expected to be released in 2016, was met with great enthusiasm.

Behind the scenes, Sony World Wide Studio boss Shuhei Yoshida spoke about the title and confirmed that it is already fully playable. Yoshida also briefly addressed why there was such a massive delay, given that 'The Last Guardian' was originally announced for PS3 back in 2007.

"There were a lot of technical problems." said Yoshida. "The video shown, the trailer on PS3, was technically very demanding. The game ran at a much lower frame rate and some features were completely missing, so the team realized they had to make compromises."

Until 2012, development on PlayStation 3 faced various problems, and finding viable solutions was too time-consuming. However, with the availability of the PlayStation 4, many issues were resolved, and the game is now fully playable.

The presentation of 'The Last Guardian' shown on Tuesday doesn't represent the final version of the game, but rather a snapshot taken from somewhere in the middle of the game, where the relationship between the boy and the creature is already somewhat established. As the game progresses, the creature will interact with you more effectively, and elements from 'Ico' and 'Shadow of the Colossus' are also promised, so it can be said that 'The Last Guardian' will combine the best of both games.

Sony explained their decision not to show a live presentation of 'The Last Guardian' by stating that dealing with the creature's unpredictable AI would have been difficult. Ultimately, however, they assured fans that they will enjoy the game.
