Even though Naughty Dog is an exceptional studio and repeatedly performs true miracles, there are also recurring doubts about the authenticity of their gameplay demos.

After the comprehensive insights into the game at the Sony press conference It may have been heard that the Tomb Raider developers received criticism, in part, for casually throwing out the word "fake" before deleting the comment. They declined to specify what exactly they were referring to.

Naughty Dog now assures that the entire E3 demo was rendered in real time, as can be heard from Creative Director Neil Druckmann.

"These were all real-time systems," said Druckmann. compared to Kotaku"In an E3 demo, we use complex systems that are random and that we define, and we play around with them, try them out and choreograph them so that we can show very specific things. But these are all real-time systems that players will also experience when they play the game."

When one can personally experience it is currently still up in the air, as Sony has yet to announce a release date for The Last of Us: Part II.
