Not everyone can warm to Ready at Dawn's 'The Order: 1886', which was once again completely panned this week.

Too short, too linear, too little to do. These were the biggest criticisms of the story-driven shooter, which received increasingly negative reviews. Gears of War creator Cliff Bleszinski, however, is enthusiastic about the game after playing it for just an hour, but also acknowledges its weaknesses. schreibt.

In his opinion, the main issues are that the story feels too forced and the quick-time events are used too frequently, even though he doesn't fundamentally object to them. He would prefer more freedom in the gameplay, even though the core gameplay itself works well.

Like everyone else, Bleszinski praises the game's superb animation, and he knows firsthand how much such productions cost. However, in the case of 'The Order: 1886', he would have allocated some resources differently. He also believes that Sony is currently focusing on improved graphics to boost console sales.

Bleszinski concluded by saying that such things only happen because the gaming industry is heavily influenced by Hollywood and tries to emulate it. To secure funding for a production like 'The Order: 1886', they need film-like blockbusters that impress people. But this seems to him to be the wrong approach.
