After recently focusing on smaller projects, developer Ready at Dawn would like to produce a big budget title again in the future, which includes a potential sequel to 'The Order: 1886'.
How to now within the framework an interview According to sources, sales figures for the original Ready at Dawn have been solid over time, but whether or not a sequel will be made rests solely in Sony's hands. They have, at least, already written plenty of stories upon which a sequel could be built.
"Before The Order was released, the IP was built up with a lot of work. Even before the game's release, we worked extensively on why each of these characters is who they are, where they come from, what the story is about, and so on. We asked ourselves, 'Where did it begin? Where is it going?' There's a lot of story that's already been written because, once again, we felt like we were writing a game and isolating it in such a way that the story it should have been wasn't enough for us."
As mentioned, it is in Sony's hands whether there will ever be a sequel or not, but Ready at Dawn would also be an option for anything else in the Triple-A sector.
