Wired Productions and LKA today confirmed the release date for their psychological horror title 'The Town of Light', which will be released in June. A new trailer has also been released, focusing on the fate of the main character, Renée, and highlighting the tragic nature of the game's historically inspired setting.
Set in the Volterra psychiatric hospital – a former mental asylum in Tuscany, Italy – ‘The Town of Light’ is based on extensive research and inspired by eyewitness accounts. The hospital was closed in the late 1970s due to a change in Italian law that forced the closure of such institutions and restored the fundamental rights of all patients.
From the perspective of 16-year-old Renée, who suffers from symptoms of a psychological illness, players must find answers to the many questions raised by her past in the place where she spent most of her youth. They embark on a journey where the boundaries between interactive entertainment, storytelling, and reality increasingly blur.
The remake of 'The Town of Light' also promises new puzzles, more content that contributes to the story, revised voice roles and dialogues, new interactive elements, improved graphics and a new user interface, contributing to a more rounded and immersive gaming experience.
'The Town of Light' will be released on June 06th, 2017.
