For the next-gen upgrade of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt CD Projekt isn't relying solely on visual and technical upgrades. Players who may already be familiar with the game can still discover a few secrets.

So far, the focus is on ray tracing support, faster loading times, and a variety of mods integrated directly into the gameplay experience. That's the official statement.

Narrative Director Philip Webber adds, however, that there will also be plenty of secrets and details to be discovered. (Contrary to...) Eurogamer Webber said:

“So we’ve hidden a lot of new secrets and a lot of new little details for people to find,” Weber said. “Roach can now walk backwards. Or actually, when Roach is standing still, there’s even a hidden button you can kick. Or I think Roach now lifts his head when you’re in the water. We tried to make a lot of these little things easy for people to find, things we won’t even include in the patch notes.”

For many players, the next-gen upgrade is already the highlight of the year, even if they have known The Witcher 3 from the beginning.

The next-gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition will be available digitally for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, and will include all previously released free DLCs as well as the two major expansions. Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine included.

Furthermore, it will be available as a free next-gen update for all owners of any version of the game for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. A physical version will be released following the initial digital launch; the release date is yet to be announced.

I'll take a look, but I don't think I'll play it for long; Crisis Core has priority first.

Awesome, I've gotten the platinum trophy for the second time, only this time not on Death March + which was a nightmare even with the best armor and weapons at the final boss.

I'm stuck on the final boss of the Blood & Wine DLC. It's been ages.
I'm afraid I'll have to load an older save file to be able to explore the world again. 🙁
