The sequel to the action title 'Titanfall' could possibly be released as early as next year, as can be seen from recent statements by publisher Electronic Arts.
Respawn Entertainment boss Vince Zampella stated that 2016 would be a big year for the franchise. In the latest quarterly report, EA's COO Blake Jorgensen added that another Battlefield game could be expected next year, as well as Mass Effect Andromeda. Furthermore, there are several other titles that are just as popular, including Titanfall, so they are extremely confident in their ability to continue growing in this business. This also aligns with previous statements indicating that they would like to release Titanfall 2 in fiscal year 2017.
Electronic Arts' fiscal year, like many others, runs from early April to the end of March, so Titanfall 2 is likely to be released sometime during this period. This time, PlayStation fans can also look forward to the title, as the exclusivity agreement with Microsoft only applies to the first game. Furthermore, the company intends to establish the franchise on mobile platforms, as the announcement concludes.
