Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered receives Patch 2 with Golden Pistols, numerous bug fixes, and improvements for all three games. Here's an overview of all the important changes.

Fans of the classics tomb raiderThe trilogy remasters can look forward to another update. Patch 2 for Tomb Raider IV–VI Remastered It not only brings a striking cosmetic innovation, but also eliminates a long list of bugs that could previously cause frustration.

Golden pistols, only for registered raiders

The most striking new feature is the Golden Pistols for Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation (TR4) and Tomb Raider: Chronicles (TR5). To unlock it, players must register in-game via the "Join the Society of Raiders" screen. After scanning a QR code and successfully registering at tombraider.com, the new weapon can be toggled on and off in the sunglasses menu under "Outfit".
In The Angel of Darkness (TR6) the golden variants are not available, presumably to keep the look and tone of the game consistent.

Fine-tuning from graphics to gameplay

The Patch Notes They read like a complete overhaul of all three titles. In Tomb Raider 4 Among other things, annoying shadow artifacts, Z-Fighting, and missing environmental elements in HD have been fixed. Performance on the Switch (NX version) should also be more stable. Players will also benefit from more precise camera functions, corrected damage detection, and reworked audio effects.

Tomb Raider 5 It receives similar attention. Conspicuous clipping errors on Lara and other character models have been fixed, faulty lighting corrected, and several inventory issues resolved. A curious exploit that allowed duplicate items has also been patched.

Tomb Raider 6, notorious for its technical quirks, receives the most attention. In addition to numerous crash fixes, faulty reflections, water textures, and animation problems have been addressed. Photo Mode, control menus, and localization have also been reworked, including the addition of missing voice-overs and improved lip-syncing.

More than just nostalgia

The update demonstrates that Aspyr not only delivers old classics in modern resolution, but also actively maintains them. This is crucial, especially with remasters of older titles, to maintain the balance between fidelity to the original and a contemporary gameplay experience. For veterans, this means fewer technical glitches and a greater focus on puzzles, exploration, and atmosphere.

There's also an update on the next big event. tomb raiderA game being jointly developed by Crystal Dynamics and Amazon Games. According to the latest quarterly report, there is still no firm release date, so patience is required.

That's all well and good, but one crucial bug still hasn't been fixed on the PS4: the ropes in TR4 that suddenly disappear after you swing on them. How are you supposed to complete the game if this fatal glitch is still present? This absolutely needs to be fixed.
Great, you wait months for a patch and then this happens. But instead we get an X-Ray Lara and golden pistols. Nobody needs that. They should fix all the glitches instead.
Perhaps a patch will be released when the Collector's Edition of the game is released in October. I really hope so.
