There is an update on the new tomb raider A movie starring Alicia Vikander, for which Misha Green (Lovecraft Country) as Director and Writer commit could.
Green is the showrunner and executive producer of Lovecraft Country, alongside Jordan Peele and JJ Abrams. She is also in the Netflix production The mother involved, as well as in Warner Brothers' Cleopatra Jones and Makeready's The Gilded Ones.
Whether the film itself can still be released this year is questionable, as delays due to the coronavirus pandemic are likely to have occurred. As far as is known, it will continue to follow the recent trilogy, including... Rise of the Tomb Raider and Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
The story of both games will be continued in a single film this time, but the filmmakers also plan to revisit events from the games, as fans apparently love this. However, a 1:1 retelling is not to be expected. There are also rumors of supernatural elements, including monsters, ghosts, prophecies, and all that sort of thing. Of course, more precise details are still under wraps.
