Ubisoft is strengthening its presence in Europe and has opened a new studio in Stockholm, Sweden, for which it has secured prominent support. The studio will be led by former Battlefield producer Patrick Bach.
As the publisher explains, the teams from Ubisoft Stockholm will work together with Massive Entertainment (The Division), the Ubisoft studio in Malmö, on the development of AAA titles, including the recently announced Avatar game. Ubisoft Stockholm is simultaneously beginning the recruitment of new developers, which is expected to number 100 members within the next two years.
“I’m incredibly excited to join the Ubisoft family, where I feel I can apply my experience in the video game industry in new and different ways. My goal has always been to create the best possible experiences for players. When I spoke with Ubisoft about what we value most, it was clear that we share the same passion: fostering the creativity of teams with this goal in mind.” says Patrick Bach, Studio Manager of the Ubisoft studio in Stockholm.
Both Ubisoft Stockholm and Massive are now recruiting. Ubisoft is committed to creating a inclusive and equitable work environment that reflects the diversity of the player community. Qualified applicants will be considered for employment without regard to race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, age, or disability.
“Ubisoft Stockholm is the latest example of Ubisoft’s selective expansion in Europe and beyond, targeting the pools of high-quality potential employees and further strengthening our existing local presence.”“,” announced Christine Burgess-Quémard, Executive Director of Ubisoft’s worldwide studios. “We believe that Ubisoft Stockholm will be an important pillar of this expansion, enabling us to continue attracting the best talent in our industry.”
