Namco Bandai revealed extensive details about Tales of Symphonia Chronicles this weekend during the Tales of festival in Japan.

For the first time, players can enjoy the acclaimed Tales of games Tales of Symphonia and its 2008 successor Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World in stunning HD graphics and with new game content.

“Together with the headquarters in Japan and the USA, we are proud to announce Tales of Symphonia Chronicles for all fans in the Western world,” said Olivier Comte, Senior Vice-President of NAMCO BANDAI Games Europe. "The Tales of series, which has been very successful in Japan, has also established itself in Western markets, and we are confident that JRPG fans will love the HD edition of two of the most popular Tales of games."

Tales of Symphonia's expansive 3D game world, with its beautiful anime cel-shaded graphics and character designs by renowned Japanese artist Kosuke Fujishima, feels like a 2D comic book. This epic adventure tells an emotionally captivating story that redefines the role-playing genre.

The player takes on the role of Lloyd Irving, who, along with his friends, embarks on a grand adventure to restore the mana of the world Sylvarant, a vital energy source. On their journey, they learn of the parallel world Tethe'alla, which also relies on the same mana as Sylvarant. Will Lloyd and his friends succeed in finding a way to ensure the survival of both worlds? Tales of Symphonia utilizes the real-time combat system of the Tales of role-playing games, giving the player direct control over their character during tactical battles.

Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World continues the story of its predecessor, exploring the consequences of Lloyd and his friends' actions at the end of the first game. Players take on the role of Emil Castagnier, who tries to uncover what has happened to his world. Dawn of the New World further develops the series' battle system, introducing a new monster recruitment feature that allows players to capture and train over 200 unique monsters to fight alongside them. Players have full access to their party members and allied monsters at all times, enabling countless combinations on the battlefield.

Tales of Symphonia Chronicles will be released in Europe in early 2014.
