A recent survey about the next PlayStation focuses on the most desired features for Sony's upcoming console.

A survey of 1245 gamers in Great Britain revealed that one feature is particularly important to them – backward compatibility. A full 71 percent of respondents want to be able to play their PlayStation 3 games on the new console. Other desired features included a reasonable price, 4K resolution, and a larger hard drive.

  1. Backward compatibility – 71%
  2. Smaller size – 68%
  3. Affordable price – 62%
  4. Touch screen controller – 54%
  5. Being able to record gameplay – 52%
  6. Larger hard drive capacity – 49%
  7. High Level Voice Control – 47%
  8. Free online play – 42%
  9. Super HD 4K – 41%
  10. Downloadable games – 40%

Those surveyed who opted for backward compatibility were subsequently asked why they specifically wanted this feature. 48 percent stated that they continued to invest significant sums of money in last-generation games, even though they play on the PlayStation 3.
