The [news] will be released in a few days. Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, which brings Naughty's cult franchise to life on PS5 for the first time. But is the upgrade even worth it?
While the content of both games remains the same, it is primarily the technical improvements that make this collection stand out. These include 4K resolution and 60/120fps, which makes the already stunning games look even better.
Digital Foundry has dedicated itself to the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection Let's assume we've tested each mode in detail. The best image quality is achieved in Quality mode, which delivers native 4K resolution at 30fps and is considered... "pretty much flawless" is described.

Performance mode with drawbacks
In Performance Mode, the visual quality is said to be similar to the PS4 Pro, but with double the frame rate, while in Performance Plus Mode the resolution is reduced to 1080p, but 120fps is achieved, provided you have a compatible TV. Both Performance Modes, however, suffer from slight frame rate drops.
Overall One comes to the conclusion:
“Each of the modes has its appeal, but the good news is that Naughty Dog has also improved the graphics – and these changes apply to all three modes. Admittedly, these improvements are quite subtle outside of direct head-to-head comparisons, but they are still welcome.”
The first international reviews also agree that the collection is certainly worth a look if you're not familiar with it. Whether you need to play yet another remaster is, of course, entirely up to you.
As one review aptly put it, the Uncharted series belongs on the PS5, but the PS5 deserves better games than just remasters like this one. With all the cross-gen and remaster releases, the hardware is currently in a state of flux and can't fully demonstrate its capabilities.
The Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection Available from January 28th.

A patch would have been enough. I find it all rather arbitrary anyway; some games get patches, others native versions. It depends a lot on marketing and external factors. They could have sold new native PS5 versions for retail, but someone who already owns the game digitally on PS4 could simply upgrade to the PS5 version/best possible version for free.
