Developer Unknown Worlds and Krafton have announced the development of a new Subnautica It has been confirmed that it will be released in 2025. This is the first time that the third installment has been officially discussed.

In the current Financial report Krafton is being discussed. 'The Next Subnautica, a survival adventure game, will be released in the first half of 2025.' This is likely a direct continuation of Subnautica from 2018 and Subnautics: Below Zero (2021), in which numerous fans have gone diving. However, no further details about the new installment are available yet.

Previously, Unknown Worlds had announced the development of a new Subnautica in various job postings implied, but never officially confirmed. The series is considered one of the best open-world games, especially due to its underwater theme.

At the time, it read:

"to tell compelling, dramatic stories within the context of the gaming experience, while simultaneously defining the history and lore of a new science fiction world and its alien inhabitants.""

The SubnauticaThe franchise invites players to explore a richly detailed underwater world. But this world is not without its dangers, because while searching for vital resources in this alien ocean, players will encounter terrifying creatures that live in the deepest and darkest corners of the sea.

In our review Regarding Subnautica: Below Zero, we came to the following conclusion:

"Significant improvements in accessibility elevate the unique gameplay experience to a new level of quality and invite fans of the first game to explore again, this time without frustration. However, those who haven't yet played the predecessor but would like to should prioritize it due to the now faster pace of the game. This allows them to truly enjoy both the original charm of Subnautica and, in a second step, the smooth gameplay of Below Zero."
