For those who have been diligently collecting PlayStation trophies for years, it now literally pays off, because at least in the USA these can now be exchanged for PSN credit as part of the PlayStation Reward Program.

Trophies are awarded for specific in-game achievements, ranging from simple to truly challenging and time-consuming. Over the years, this has led to the emergence of dedicated trophy hunters who constantly strive for the highest possible trophy level.

The official PlayStation Rewards website now allows players to exchange their trophies for PSN credit. 100 Silver Trophies are worth 100 points, which is equivalent to $1. 25 Gold Trophies are worth 250 points, and 10 Platinum Trophies are worth 1000 points. Therefore, to purchase a AAA title, 50.000 points or 50 Platinum Trophies are required.

The time required is therefore enormous, although there are already players who have over 1300 Platinum Trophies in their account and could thus earn well over $1000.
