Before you can taste the seductive blood of your victims in DontNod's 'Vampyr', the developer will soon release a four-part website about the upcoming adventure.
It all kicks off on January 18th with the first episode, which introduces the approach used to bring this story-driven RPG to life. The focus is on the identity of the main character, Jonathan Reid, and why players are drawn into this ambivalent role. The studio lets players experience the conflict tormenting the doctor-turned-vampire, while they have the freedom to kill or spare anything and anyone. Every sacrifice has consequences, and the need for sustenance and the associated character progression must be balanced against the repercussions of a decaying London.
Four episodes are planned to be released weekly starting January 18th:
- Episode I: Making Monsters
- Episode II: Architects of the Obscure
- Episode III: Human After All
- Episode IV: Stories from the Dark
In Vampire, you explore the dark London of the early 20th century as a military doctor turned vampire. Having just returned from World War I during the Spanish Flu pandemic, you are unexpectedly struck by the vampire curse. You must find your way in your new, post-mortem existence, defending yourself against a host of threats, murderous creatures, and dangerous vampire hunters as you search for the reason behind your transformation. And the question arises: can inhumanity be cured?
Vampyr will be released early this year.
