If you count Warzone not for that, that's when the truly glorious time began. of the CoD multiplayer That era has been over for several years now. Driven by greed, the soul of the games gradually disappeared, giving way to the unpleasant uniformity that... Call of Duty that's just how things have become nowadays. After the pathetic attempts to revive the Modern WarfareHaving successfully tackled the -series in the past two years, Activision is now teaming up with Treyarch to tackle the other major franchise: Black Ops.
As someone to whom the Black OpsSince these parts are very close to my heart, I've naturally always kept an eye on what's to come. So it was with the beginning of the Closed Beta of Call of Duty Black Ops 6 It was time for me to give it another chance. Whether I was disappointed again or the beta actually made me want more, you can find out here in my short preview.
The Call of Duty Masterclass
I know it's just a beta and it'll be a while before the game is released. But somehow it's typical that my first contact with the new game is immediately linked to a bug. After I finally understood that there was only one more... Call of Duty available for download and the games of recent years together with Warzone Then, after selecting them as DLC (???), I had downloaded everything I needed and started the beta… or not. As soon as I logged in, a message popped up saying I was missing the necessary DLC packs – a total of 0 MB still needed to be downloaded. Perfect start, right? After trying a lot of things myself, I resorted to the all-purpose weapon: Reddit. After browsing the forums a bit, someone wrote that you had to download the English language pack and delete the German one to fix the bug. So I did, and lo and behold: it worked. From then on, I continued in English. What that (despite the beta excuseWhat this multi-billion dollar corporation says about it will remain unmentioned for now.

Recognizable potential
When I finally got started, one thing immediately struck me as positive: the beta is very straightforward. Aside from the training mode, the only playable option for the first two days was the Core Moshpit playlist, which contained several modes. I mention the first two days because Activision has decided to expand the content throughout the beta. This means that maps and modes will be added regularly until the end of the pre-order beta to provide variety – not a bad idea at all.
Since this is more of a first impression than a proper review, I'll keep some points brief. For example, there's not much to say about leveling and unlocking things at this stage, as you can only reach a maximum level of 20. Much more can be said about the class system, which, in its streamlined form, is reminiscent of its truly excellent predecessors. No more endless lists of quests, most of which are ignored because everyone only plays what's currently popular. The perks are also intelligently implemented and, within their limitations, make perfect sense. It seems that, at least as far as the class system is concerned, the developers have learned from their mistakes and have likely integrated the best system of recent years into the game.

The classes are usually lumped together with the scorestreaks, but there's practically nothing to say about them since only six were playable in the beta, and apart from the drone and the counter-drone, they were all relatively useless. A major drawback was that you couldn't achieve them multiple times in a row without dying. I'm sure that will be adjusted, though—anything else would be insane.
