110 Industries is highlighting another aspect of their action title today. Wanted Dead, by putting the spectacular finishers in the spotlight.

The game boasts over 50 wild and unique finishing moves, requiring over 100 hours of motion capture and a dedicated team of stuntmen to assemble. This starts with the takedowns, which are explosive in their variety, offering situational kills, environmental hazards, and unique takedowns specific to enemy types. These kills add a gory look to the onslaught while also serving a vital tactical purpose by regenerating lost health.

However, it's not as simple as it might seem. Players will learn that executing takedowns and finishing moves is essential for progression and for mastering certain encounters.

Hannah's ultimate attack is unlocked very early in the game. This ingenious attack helps stack staggered enemies and unleash devastating chain finishers that can effectively eliminate an entire room full of foes. Finishing strikes work by each enemy having an invisible stamina bar (Melee opponents usually have more stamina than ranged fighters. When the player damages enemies, this stamina bar slowly depletes, and once their stamina reaches zero, the enemy enters a staggered animation and can be finished off by the player. Another way to achieve a finisher is to parry at the last minute with a sword or sidearm, which automatically reduces the enemy's stamina and provides the perfect opportunity for a kill.

“We had a lot of fun creating these unique finisher combos in Wanted Dead and can’t wait for players to wreak havoc on Valentine’s Day,” said Sergei Kolobashkin, founder and creative director at 110 Industries.

Wanted Dead It uses an intelligent system to trigger finishing animations. First, the algorithm looks for opportunities for environmental or situational kills, such as an enemy using their own weapon against them. Then, the algorithm ensures the player has a strong visual variety by constantly moving and rotating around enemies to achieve epic takedowns. These finisher moves are not only visceral and breathtaking, but they also serve a combat purpose, resulting in truly action-packed gameplay.
