When a service game is still being expanded with substance after more than ten years, it's worth pausing for a moment. Warframe That's exactly the case, because Digital Extremes didn't just announce content at TennoCon 2025, they set the narrative course. Several new content pieces pick up where other games have long since resorted to recycling.

The return of the past: “The Old Peace”

The focus is on the upcoming story chapter. The Old Peace, which is scheduled for release in 2025. Players will experience the forgotten story of Tau and his friend Adis, two figures from the time before the known universe. The game centers on the war between the Orokin and the Dax Anarch Warriors, a new enemy faction. The battle takes place on the moon Perita.

Narratively, the game remains true to its style: major conflicts, personal fates, only this time more strongly from the operator's point of view, whose role, according to the developers, is emphasized once again. The Old Peace sets the “Void War” narrative It continues and is intended to pave the way for an even more extensive chapter in 2026: the Tau story. However, a concrete release date is currently unavailable.

Also included is The Devil's TriadA side quest with three new characters, including Uriel – a devil-inspired Warframe. Harrow and Wisp players will also be pleased with the expanded lore of their Protoframes.

Operator update and new content this fall

In parallel, the operator is receiving a graphical overhaul, including new facial animations and cosmetic assets. A new ultimate ability is also in development, but details are not yet available.

The patch, also planned for autumn, brings a small but noteworthy innovation: The teacher, a tutorial quest for mods, developed with Sumo Digital. The goal is to make it easier for new players to get started – a recurring theme in the community.

Other content included in the fall update: the 62nd Warframe, a rework of Oberon, a deluxe skin for Lavos, and various quality-of-life improvements. Digital Extremes plans to release more detailed information in September. Things are also becoming more concrete on mobile devices, as the Android beta launches this fall; registration is open now.

Digital Extremes remains true to its roots, demonstrating how a live-service title can evolve organically without simply fobbending players with cosmetic tweaks. The announced content doesn't sound like mere feature ticks, but rather like narrative development with substance.
