Creative Assembly, the creators behind Alien Isolation, are currently working on the new team shooter Hyenas, which is by no means another Overwatch or Apex Legends The market is already oversaturated, yet they believe they can compete with their own ideas.
What Hyenas How they want to do things completely differently is revealed in a recent interview with PLAY Magazine. This starts with the heroes, extends to team play, and ends with the weapons. As an example, they mention the composition of a few unlikely heroes, including a ballerina.
Here, Christoph Will from Creative Assembly explains:
“We wanted a sci-fi setting and spaceships, but we didn’t really want to do another space marine thing,” Will said. “So while there is an astronaut on the character list, there’s also a ballerina, a bank robber, and a drag queen, all recognizable from other genres, but transposed to this futuristic scenario where their unique abilities can shine.”

Players should have a choice
goal with Hyenas The gameplay aspect is to always give players the choice to do something exciting by utilizing the ship's systems. While each hyena has its own unique primary weapon, items they can pick up on the map also lead to amusing situations.
The foam grenade is a good example here, offering not only its effervescent properties but also possibilities such as creating defensive cover or reaching higher ground. Ultimately, the focus is always on fun, inspired by both hero shooters and battle royale games.
Currently, we are in the situation of Hyenas It's still in an early testing phase to find out what works and how to find the right balance. Therefore, it's not yet possible to say when Hyenas will appear.
