Ubisoft today announced the Watch_Dogs ebook //n/Dark Clouds. The book is written by John Shirley and inspired by the video game Watch Dogs.

The ebook offers fans the opportunity to delve deeper into the world of Watch_Dogs. This ebook is Ubisoft's first of its kind, as it was created in-house and will be available exclusively on the digital market.

Author John Shirley has written over 30 books, including "A Song Called Youth," and is a well-known figure in the hacker community and a pioneer of the cyberpunk movement. This makes him a perfect fit for the Watch_Dogs ebook. Through close collaboration with the writers and development team of Watch_Dogs, Shirley has successfully captured the game's atmosphere in his thriller, combining high-tech crime with both familiar and new characters.

"It was incredibly interesting for me to work on Watch Dogs, especially because of the way cyberpunk approaches the fraught technological reality of our time. All of this harmonizes with my unrestricted action and energy against the inner-city backdrop." says John Shirley. “Aiden Pearce presents a believable fusion of an action hero and a hacker—a gun in one hand and his hacking skills in the other. He deliberately moves between different levels of society to ruthlessly pursue his goals. The novel also introduces the character Mick Wolfe, an ex-soldier trapped in a dangerous game in Chicago’s underworld. Working with Thomas Geffroyd and Kevin Shortt from Ubisoft on this book was unique—Ubisoft is truly at the forefront of video game development. I couldn’t have asked for more inspiration.”

Watch_Dogs //n/Dark Clouds will be available in German, English, French, and Spanish on the game's release date of May 27th and will be released in two different digital versions: a classic version and a version enhanced with interactive elements, including videos. (pr)
