Am last night Electronic Arts officially announced the new Medal of Honor Warfighter with a trailer, and today they released further details about the story and the Tier 1.
A relatively unknown unit of hand-picked soldiers under the direct command of the National Command Authority is deployed whenever a mission absolutely cannot fail. These are the Tier 1 agents – elite soldiers who rarely see the world.
Whether it's rescuing hostages in Abu Sayyaf's fortress in Basilan in the Philippines or attacking Al-Shabaab's "pirate city" on the coast of Somalia – Medal of Honor Warfighter is the only game where players get a glimpse into these real events and experience the action as it may have actually happened.
Medal of Honor Warfighter goes beyond the battlefield, revealing the tragic side of war from the perspective of military families. Written by agents within these units, the game's story offers intimate insights into the sacrifices these soldiers—and their families—make.
For the first time, Medal of Honor is employing not only Tier 1 agents from the US as advisors, but also agents from all over the globe, including from Poland's GROM, Australia's SASR, Germany's KSK, and others. Danger Close is also collaborating with the manufacturers of the military equipment and weapon systems that equip Tier 1 agents during their overseas deployments.
Medal of Honor Warfighter will be released on October 23, 2012.
