SEGA came to PlayStation Experience today with two surprises, announcing the release of 'Yakuza 6: The Song of Life' and 'Yakuza Kiwami' in Western regions.
The story of Yakuza 6 follows multiple storylines, including that of Kazuma Kiryu, who continues his ascent within the Yakuza, clashing with rival factions in the criminal underworld. Thanks to the open world, players can choose which missions to undertake to progress further. This time around, there's a stronger focus on narrative, giving players an even deeper understanding of Kazuma Kiryu. It also marks the end of Kiryu's story.

Yakuza Kiwami
Kiwami is a completely new version of Yakuza. The game includes several new features and content that go far beyond graphical improvements. Kiwami adds new aspects to the storyline, including side quests in Kamurocho, new side missions, and improved gameplay and combat mechanics. Furthermore, Yakuza Kiwami marks the first time the original Japanese dialogue has been re-recorded and released in Western countries.
Yakuza Kiwami begins with protagonist Kazuma Kiryu being imprisoned for the murder of his patriarch, a crime he didn't commit. To make matters worse, during his ten-year incarceration, he is not only expelled from the Yakuza, but 10 billion yen also suddenly disappear from the clan's coffers. And while the entire Japanese underworld is searching for the money, Kiryu's childhood sweetheart vanishes. Kiryu now dedicates himself to finding the orphan girl Haruka, who is searching for her aunt, who shares the same name as Kiryu's lost love. A web of betrayal, underworld politics, and revenge shapes the events that follow, but nothing will deter Kiryu from restoring his honor.
Yakuza Kiwami will be available from summer 2017.
