Rockstar Games announces – rather quietly than loudly – new content for Red Dead Online Back. Starting today, players can launch four new Telegram missions called "Strange Tales of the West," which introduce not only the undead but also mechanical abominations and swamp monsters. Completely official, without any event hype. If you're wondering what's going on: we are too.
Red Dead Redemption 2: And suddenly there are zombies!
The new content is available now and can be accessed via Telegram missions from the game menu, the lockbox in camp, or any post office. The story revolves around the writer Theodore Levin, who—apparently inspired by the horrors of old Western legends—is investigating paranormal phenomena. Players assist him in his hunt for the unexplained.
There are also generous bonuses:
- 3x Gold, RDO$ and XP on all Telegram missions
- 3x RDO$ and XP for Naturalist sample sales
- 3x Role XP on legendary animal sightings
- 2x RDO$ and XP wildlife photography
This includes discounts on naturalist items, ammunition, horses, clothing, and more. So, anyone wanting to jump back in will find some real incentives – especially if you see the zombie missions as a little Halloween trailer in the summer.
And what about the PS5 release?
Despite the new activities in Red Dead Online The most pressing question remains unanswered: When will it arrive? Red Dead Redemption 2 finally for PS5 And Xbox Series X|S? A next-gen update is long overdue. Rockstar's delivery of fresh content is a good sign, but not a definitive indication. The last hint was... essentially vanished into thin airNo ray tracing, no FPS option, no official roadmap. Just zombies – at least.
The "Strange Tales of the West" feel like a lovingly crafted little content boost. Certainly no cause for euphoria for veterans – but not a disaster either. What remains is a solid summer update with a creepy element that leaves some questions unanswered: Why now? And what comes next?
