The big day has arrived: Ubisoft is lifting the final curtain today before the release of Assassin's Creed Shadows! We have summarized all the important information about the launch - from review embargo and preload to download size and day one patch. And the burning question: Is there Early Access?
Review embargo: When will the first test reports appear?
Today at 6 p.m. the review embargo endsthen we can expect the first test reports and impressions from the international press. The big question: Will Assassin's Creed Shadows the stealth highlight fans have been waiting years for? We also have something prepared, including a Review specials with Flo from Gameconfect.
When exactly you can get started depends on your platform. Here are the exact times:
- PS5 & Xbox Series X/S: March 20 at 0 o'clock
- PC (Steam): March 20 at 5 o'clock
- PC (Ubisoft Connect): March 19 at 11 pm
No Early Access - Ubisoft changes strategy
Anyone hoping to secure early access with a more expensive edition will be disappointed. Assassin's Creed Shadows dispenses with Early Access - all players start at the same time. An unusual decision in times when publishers are increasingly relying on early access as a sales argument.
The preload is already available so that you can get started right from the release:
- PS5: Preload already possible
- Xbox Series X/S: Preload already possible
- PC: Preload already possible
If you are not currently in Germany, there are global release times that you can check directly in the Ubisoft client or store on your platform.
Download size & Day One patch: This is how much storage space is required
If you need to free up space on your console, you should know the following:
- PS5: 104.7 GB (incl. Day One patch) - Version 1.002.103
- Additional language packs: Optional download required
A special treat: if desired, the entire game can be played in Japanese voice output can be experienced - an atmospheric extra that makes the samurai story even more authentic.
Pre-order customers also receive the Claws of Awaji expansion free of charge - additional content that adds horror elements to the game and will be released later this year.
