Bloober Team remains in the horror business and continues its collaboration with Konami. The Polish studio, which has already worked on the remake of Silent Hill 2 horror fans, is working on another game based on a Konami IP. But which brand will get the bloober therapy?
A new horror game?
According to an official announcement on the website of Bloober Team the studio has signed a new contract with Konami. Details are scarce, but one thing is certain: The game will be based on a Konami brand, and Konami will remain the publisher and rights holder as before. So the speculation has begun!
Given Bloober's past as a specialist in psychological horror, it would stand to reason that they would once again work on Silent Hill work. Perhaps a remake of the first part? Or is the studio even venturing into a completely new chapter within the legendary horror franchise? An exciting idea, after all Bloober Team had already worked on The Medium has shown that it has a soft spot for dark parallel worlds.
But what if the studio surprisingly takes a completely different direction? In addition to Silent Hill some other brands with horror potential, including Castlevania or even something completely new?
"Our partnership with Konami has taken Silent Hill 2 to a new level - the success speaks volumes. The intensive exchange of know-how and creative vision has resulted in a production that sets new standards in every respect. Of course, we can't reveal everything yet, but one thing is certain: fans can look forward to something very special. We are eager to share our next big highlight with the world," explains Piotr Babieno, CEO of Bloober Team.
From criticism to confirmation
After the initial skeptical reaction of many fans to the Silent Hill 2-Remake Bloober Team was able to do a lot of convincing with the final product. Nevertheless, the pressure remains high: can the studio deliver again or even prove its critics wrong? With Konami's return to its cult brands and Bloober Team's experience in atmospheric horror, something big could emerge here.
Although no details are known yet, the coming months should be exciting. The only question that remains is: Which Konami horror game would you most like to see from Bloober Team?
