Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: Why it's worth waiting for the PS5 version

PS5 players can look forward to the best version of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Update 3 brings further important technical improvements for an even more intense gaming experience.

The third major update for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is here, and it makes it clear: PlayStation fans are getting the best console version! The new patch not only brings numerous bug fixes, but also improves graphics and audio. There is also a practical new quality of life function.

But the real highlight is the support for NVIDIA DLSS 4 on the PC, which enables ray tracing and upscaling. Update 3 therefore offers a large number of new technical improvementswhich take the gaming experience to a new level. Intel XESS 1.4 and AMD FSR 3.1 with Frame Generation technology also ensure impressive visuals, which should benefit the console versions, while the PS5 Pro is likely to get extra treatment.

New functions in detail

With the new patch Indiana Jones and the Great Circle full support for NVIDIA DLSS 4 on the PC, which means:

  • Multi Frame GenerationEnables an up to fourfold increase in the frame rate.
  • Ray ReconstructionImproves the quality and stability of raytraced images.
  • DLAA and DLSS Super Resolution have been updated to the new transformer-based model and provide sharper upscaled images.

Players with Path Tracing enabled will receive a new option for ray tracing local lights, which means that all light sources cast shadows and interiors look much more realistic. In addition, path tracing is now also supported for AMD and Intel graphics cards - prerequisite: hardware ray tracing and at least 16 GB VRAM.

In addition to NVIDIA owners, AMD and Intel users will also benefit:

  • AMD FSR 3.1 brings improved upscaling technology and frame generation.
  • Intel XESS 1.4 also ensures optimized performance and sharper images.

Quality of Life improvements:

  • Repair kits can now be used directly in the inventorywithout having to select a broken weapon or a defective tool.
  • Numerous bug fixesin particular minor story spoilers have been toned down.

Why the PS5 version offers the best experience

Although Xbox players also benefit from the technical innovations, PS5 owners can look forward to a version that offers a smoother and more immersive experience right from the start.

It is also expected that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle runs on the PS5 Pro with PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution), which brings additional performance improvements. There is also exclusive DualSense support, which uses the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers of the PS5 controllers to make the adventure even more intense.

The wait for the PS5 version is worth it - with the latest patches, PlayStation fans can enjoy the best console version of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle look forward to. It remains to be seen when the adventure game will be released for the Sony console. Roughly the spring of 2025.
