It looks like PlayStation has indirectly confirmed that a new God of War-game is in the works. A small but telling hint in a current job advertisement from Santa Monica Studio is causing speculation. However, this would not really come as a surprise.

The renowned Sony studio in California has not yet officially announced its next project. But a job offer for a "Senior Technical Narrative Designer" gives rise to the assumption that this is another God of War-title. Nothing unusual at first glance - PlayStation is always on the lookout for new talent. But one particular point in the requirements is causing a stir.

God of War knowledge is a prerequisite

According to the job advertisement, applicants should not only have knowledge of competitor products, but also "a personal understanding of God of War games". A coincidence? Hardly. Why else would an in-depth knowledge of Kratos' adventures be a prerequisite if it's not directly about God of War?

Of course, there are several possibilities. One of them would be the rumored "God of War Remastered Collection". However, this is due to be released soon, so a Senior Technical Narrative Designer would probably come too late for this project. It is also questionable whether a remaster collection needs such a position at all. The actress playing Freya also brought a spin-off into discussionwhich she would be personally delighted to receive.

So far, neither PlayStation nor Santa Monica Studio have commented on this job posting or the burgeoning rumors. And it is unlikely that this will change - neither company is known for responding to speculation or job postings. Nevertheless, the hint remains and should further fuel fans' anticipation.

Whether this is a completely new spin-off or an expansion remains to be seen. For Kratos, however, the journey is probably far from over.
