Five years after the original release, the Days Gone is back on our screens with upgraded technology - and in a remastered version that doesn't settle for half measures. Bend Studio now has a comprehensive overview publishedwhich shows: The resolution has not just been tweaked - the game has been completely dusted off on a technical level.
What Days Gone Remastered really has to offer technically
An instant graphics showdown awaits you on the standard PlayStation 5: you can choose to jet through the zombie-infested open world in performance mode at 1440p with a smooth 60 FPS or opt for native 4K in quality mode - but with 30 FPS. An additional 40 FPS mode is already in the pipeline and will be added in a patch. Important difference to the PS4: Instead of checkboard rendering, the PS5 finally offers native rendering - crystal clear and razor sharp.
For PS5 Pro owners, it's even a little more finely tuned: The performance mode delivers 1800p at 60 FPS, while the quality mode aims for 2880p - a kind of 4K plus that comes into its own via downscaling. And those who like it particularly stable can opt for Enhanced mode: 1584p at 60 FPS, supported by PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), which brings extra clarity to the apocalyptic action.
Visuals have also been upgraded: The new atmosphere and sky simulation, based on ozone and spectral light models, provides more realistic sunlight, darker nights and rich colors. Twice as detailed shadows, improved environmental occlusion and refined screen lighting make the world of Deacon St. John more intense than ever - even if this initially seems to be the case. after minimum effort for a remaster sounds.
New DLC "Broken Road": More zombies, more modes, more challenge
PC gamers can also look forward to it: Update 1.08 brings the same visual treats to the monitor - including DualSense haptics, extended operating aids and "Wow" shadow quality. The new DLC is also available for 10 US dollars Broken Road on top.
And it has it all: with modes such as "Hordes Assault", permadeath and speedrun as well as an arcade mode for hardcore survivors becomes Days Gone to the real End Time Challenge. Plus: a revised photo mode that perfectly captures the new graphic splendor.
