Whoever thought that the PS5 with its advanced compression technology could reduce the download sizes for upcoming games, the Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has taught us otherwise. The new release of the action adventure game from MachineGames comes with a considerable file size that will make even the more spacious SSDs of the PS5 break a sweat.

Gigantic download size: making space on the PS5

With a download size of 125 GB for the PS5 version, it is clear that a whole lot of storage space is required here. Admittedly, such dimensions are not uncommon for AAA titles, but this colossal scope is likely to drive up not only the excitement but also the frustration of the players. While we can enjoy the graphical masterpieces and cinematic experiences, the constant game with the free memory space remains an unsolved problem.

The console wars may still be in full swing between Xbox and PlayStation, but in this case the PS5 has to admit that it's not doing the best job when it comes to efficient memory usage. Who's up for it, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle should already be preparing for an SSD clear-out. The days of being able to move through a series of games on the hard disk without any problems are over. Instead, the question now is whether you should delete your favorite titles from the console in favor of a new release or treat yourself to an additional memory expansion.

After all, the pre-load will be available from April 15, so that those who are aiming for the regular release can get started on time. Those playing Indiana Jones and the Great Circle in Early Access can start downloading the game on April 13.

Review embargo: tension grows until release

But that's not all - there is another exciting aspect that may come as an interesting surprise to some players: The review embargo. The first reviews of the game will not be available until next week, shortly before the official release on April 17. This gives the developers the opportunity to make final fine-tuning adjustments while the players are full of anticipation for the adventure. This will keep the tension at a high level until the release and create even more anticipation for the first encounter with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

To bridge the waiting time until then, there is a new making-of video today. There is an overview of the different editions here.
