Außerdem hat sich Show Host zum Konzept in diesem Jahr geäußert, wonach die Show etwas kürzer als gewohnt ausfallen wird. Diese ging in den letzten Jahren nicht selten 3 Stunden, was das ganze etwas ermüdend wirken ließ, um bis zum Ende durchzuhalten.
Trotzdem soll es nicht an Premieren und Vorstellungen mangeln, die man um die 50+ beziffert, darunter einige Überraschungen, von denen man hofft, sie bis zuletzt unter Verschluss halten zu können. Das hat in den vergangenen Jahren recht gut geklappt.
Vorrangig dürften viele Spiele darunter sein, die ausschließlich für die neuen Konsolen erscheinen. Auf der anderen Seite sind die The Game Awards auch immer eine reine Werbeveranstaltung, die bis ins Unendliche aufgebläht wird. Einen Blick sind sie dennoch wert.
