Auch wenn die GDC in diesem März abgesagt werden musste, wurden dennoch die jährlichen GDC Awards vergeben. Auch gibt es einen neuen Termin für das Event im August.
Zum Game of the Year wurde hier ebenfalls Untitled Goose Game gekürt, das bereits bei den The Game Awards entsprechend abräumte. Ebenfalls groß abgeräumt hat Control von Remedy und der Indie-Hit Disco Elysium.
