Neben den zahlreichen Premieren bei den The Game Awards in der vergangenen Nacht wurden natürlich auch die Awards an sich vergeben, darunter der Award für das Game of the Year.
Zum besten Spiel des Jahres wurde diesmal The Last of Us: Part II von Naughty Dog erwählt, das zusätzlich in weiteren Kategorien abräumen konnte, darunter Best Narrative, Best Game Direction, Best Audio Design, Best Performance, Innovation in Accessibility und Best Action/Adventure.
Aber auch Ghost of Tsushima konnte einen Award mit nach Hause nehmen, das ebenfalls mehrfach nominiert war.
