The live service hit Marvel Rivals They have big plans: Every six weeks, a new hero will be introduced to the game, as confirmed by Game Director Guangyun Chen. This ambitious concept is intended not only to provide continuous excitement but also to keep the community engaged in the long term.

A breath of fresh air every season

With the Start of Season 1, Eternal Night Falls, presented Marvel Rivals This week sees the premiere of a vampire-themed season in which the Fantastic Four face off against Dracula. The season is divided into two halves, with the first half introducing Invisible Woman and Mister Fantastic, followed later by Human Torch and The Thing. Additionally, the new season offers... three fresh cards, special events and the new Doom Match game mode, which provides variety.

Guangyun Chen explained in the interview: "Each season is divided into two parts. During each half, we introduce new heroes, maps, and stories to the game. Our goal is to constantly excite players and ensure a vibrant community."

The selection of heroes – more than just chance

The decision regarding which heroes will be added to the game is based on seasonal themes and player feedback. According to Chen, the team will work closely with the community to ensure that the new additions not only fit thematically but also add tactical depth.

With currently eight Vanguards and seven Strategists, Marvel Rivals It already provides a solid foundation for tactical matchups. Nevertheless, Chen emphasizes that additional heroes will open up even more strategic options for players. Plans for the future have already been made. First content leaked, including new X-Man characters.

NetEase's success proves them right: As early as January 11th, the start of Season 1, the game recorded over 649.000 concurrent players on Steam, thus reaching 14th place in the highest player numbers of all time on the platform.
